Last year ICA allotted a grant to the ORT-Braude Institute in the Galilee that runs a youth division of science activity for pupils.
This year another request for funding pupil lab expansion has been submitted by them.
The enclosed newspaper articles (in Hebrew) describe the launching of a Pseudo-satellite – Galil 1 – for forest fire detection. Its life span exceeds that of a Nano-satellite and reaches an altitude of 20 km. The group, composed of Jewish and Arab youth, is a continuation of similar activity by ICA at Misgav and MOONA.
By the way, with ICA’s support, another MOONA branch was recently opened at Desert Stars in the Negev. My aim now is to do the same in the Valley of Springs.
