Misgav junior high school pupils are building telescopes in a lab that was supported by ICA.
Yesterday, I met with 8th grade pupils who gave me a professional lecture of how this is done. It was interesting to see how serious they were in their explanations. Every year 8-10 telescopes will be built.
They suggested the establishment of a school company that will sell telescopes and educational curriculum on how to use it, mainly during school field trips.
Some parents are very involved in this initiative, with one even volunteering to provide astronomical support to the pupils.
This project is a model of a unique physics curriculum that can be copied by other schools.
