Dear Zeev and ICA members,
I am excited to share with you a film produced last year in our cinema department. It is the final project of a team of 12th grade students named “Shumakom” (Nowhere).
I am proud to announce that the film was admitted to the prestigious competition “The best young creation of Haifa Festival” which will take place at the end of the month and will be screened on the festival opening morning. 12 films were accepted for this competition, 6 feature films and 6 documentaries out of more than a hundred final films received.
In addition, another final film by our 12th graders, “Dancing Life” was accepted to the Jerusalem Film Festival in July 2023, making us also extremely proud.
We, the department teacher staff, are very happy with the achievements of our students, and you, ICA, have a part in this success.
Your donation to the department, which equips our students with new cameras, prime lenses, and powerful computers for the editing rooms, allows us to achieve these remarkable results. The students can now shoot at a higher quality, achieving better aesthetics and technical results. The more powerful computers now enable us to edit high-quality videos. They also allow us to run better editing software and utilize after-effects.
Thank you for supporting both the students and our teaching staff.
At the beginning of October, we will have a new and updated TV studio, thanks to you, and until the end of 2023 we will complete the project as planned.
I will continue to update you on our students’ productions, and in the meantime, I wish you a happy and sweet new year.
Yours,
Yael Laser
